Company Headquarters, Kinshasa, DRC

Our final touches are well underway for our client’s new Headquarters in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The Headquarters are made up of three meticulously, and sustainably designed buildings: The Administrative and Main Office Buildings, the Residences, and the Social Building.

The Main Administrative & Office Buildings:
Expressed as two separate programs, and expressed in a unique architectural language. The Administration, in its 1 floor concrete construction, includes suspended garden roofs, bridges, and alternating spatial partitions, whereas the Offices in their wood structure are subdivided and linked through a glass atrium and a dynamic steel staircase. The Atrium contributes to natural ventilation, while the northern and southern facades are fully glazed and protected from the sun. 

The Residences: 
Adopts a steel structure and is divided into two entities: one for families and one for singles sharing the living space.  They are linked through a covered, external circulation on each level. 

The Social Building: 
Elevated from the ground and contains the toilets, changing rooms in addition to a cafeteria and a resting space for the factory workers. These social spaces are located on the roof floor, totally outdoor and covered by a corrugated sheet.
